Hi, I'm Anais
I'm an illustrator and storyteller based in Canada, and I created Little Me in Big Canada. Through illustration, comics, and playful design, I explore the relationship between people, animals, and landscapes across this country. I'm drawn to humour, storytelling, and a deep love for Canada's wildlife, especially raccoons, the masked little bandits that somehow ended up at the heart of everything I make.
Came out of curiosity, stayed for the love of Canada
I moved to Canada in 2018, and it was love at first sight. After moving from Toronto to Vancouver in 2021, I wanted to send postcards to my friends and family back home, but could not find any illustrated ones I truly loved. So… I made my own!
That first set of postcards turned into something I never expected. From Vancouver, I made my way to Montreal, spent a summer digital nomading along the East Coast, and eventually found myself back in Toronto, the raccoon capital of the world.
Seeing this country from so many different angles gave me a real passion for sharing it. Now I spend my time drawing the landscapes, wildlife, and little everyday moments that make Canada so hard to stop thinking about.
Looking back at all my travel pictures, I kept noticing how small I looked against it all.
That’s where the name came from: Little Me in Big Canada.
My Creative 5-to-9
Little Me in Big Canada lives outside my day job, but creativity has never really felt optional for me. It’s how I process the world, how I express myself, and honestly, where I feel most like myself. I’m always exploring new mediums, and there’s always something new in the works because I simply can’t stop.
