3 Raccoons in Canada — The Book
What happens when three raccoons dream of visiting Toronto… and nothing goes as planned? This illustrated story follows three curious raccoons on a cross-country quest to reach Toronto, known as the Raccoon Capital of the World. From coast to coast (with a few surprises), they encounter Canada’s warmth, humour, and spirited diversity through the voices of beloved animals they meet along the way, from caribou to beavers to polar bears.
Inspired by my journey across Canada, this book celebrates the places I explored. It’s a playful, heartfelt tribute to the country’s diverse culture and character, from Inuit art to Toronto’s buzzing food scene, Alberta’s breathtaking landscapes, and the thrill of dogsled races. It’s funny, warm, and very me!
About the Raccoons
Living in Toronto, I shamelessly fell for the raccoon lore this city is known for. Raccoons are the perfect mix of wit, mischief, cuteness, and curiosity. They’re adorable, but with an edge.
Once I saw one riding a garbage bin like a chariot, I knew I had found my stars. They became the perfect trio to lead this journey across Canada, full of surprise, personality, and that wild charm you can’t reasonably predict. You never really know what they’ll do next, and that’s exactly why we love to follow their story.
Progress
The story took root in 2021, and the first version began taking shape in June 2023. In early 2024, I found my style and decided to start fresh. As of February 2026, the book is complete, and the French Canadian version is now in progress.
I am currently reaching out to agents and indie publishers across Canada while preparing a self-publishing path in parallel.
It started as a wild idea. It is now a real book. Still wrapping my head around that!
