How do I get started? Which file do I open?
Just double-click the HTML file. It opens in your browser (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge). You'll see the calculator right away. Start adding your products and you're good to go.
Can I add my own products?
Yes! Add unlimited products with your own costs, packaging, shipping, and selling prices.
What if Etsy changes their fees?
Every fee is editable directly in the app. If Etsy updates their rates, you can update them yourself in the settings panel and all your products recalculate instantly.
Is this accurate? Can I trust the calculations?
Yes. Every formula is based on Etsy's published fee structure and CRA marginal tax brackets. All fees are visible and editable in the settings, so you can verify and adjust them yourself. WooCommerce and Shopify rates are included too. That said, this is an estimation tool. Always double-check with your own records and accountant for tax filing.
Can I use this to file my taxes?
No. This is a pricing tool, not a tax tool. It helps you understand the real cost of listing products on Etsy so you don't undercharge. The tax estimation gives you a rough idea of your take-home, but for actual tax filing (T2125, GST/HST, etc.) use dedicated accounting software and consult your accountant.
Who gets access to my data?
No one but you. The calculator is a simple file that lives on your computer and runs in your browser. There's no cloud, no account, no server storing your information. Your product data stays on your laptop, period. It's a lightweight, easy-to-use tool built for everyone. No technical skills required.
Is this a one-time payment or a subscription?
One-time payment. You download the file and it's yours. No subscription, no account, no recurring fees. This is a standalone tool, not a managed service or plugin. Occasional updates may be released and buyers will be notified, but the version you download works as-is out of the box.
Can I get a refund?
Digital products are non-refundable, but if you have any issues, email hello@littlemeinbigcanada.com and we'll help.
Who made this?
I did! Me, Anais, a software engineer with 10+ years of experience and a background in marketing. Building tools that solve real problems is what got me into tech in the first place. I'm also an Etsy seller. I built this calculator for myself because I needed to understand exactly what I was keeping on every sale. Then I realized other sellers needed it too: artists, makers, and small shop owners who aren't accountants or spreadsheet people. So I made it simple, visual, and accessible to anyone.
Is this only for Canadian sellers?
The Canadian version uses CAD fees and CRA tax rates. A US version is also available with USD fees, US payment processing rates, and self-employment tax estimation. UK and EU versions are coming soon.
What about UK or EU sellers?
